Kilowog POOZER by jpm1023 Kilowog POOZER by jpm1023
Okay, so for you poozers who aren't staring into the firey emerald light of Oa on a monthly basis, this is Kilowog. He's big. He's badass. He's the guy that trains and, in some cases, protects the new recruits to the Green Lantern Corps. Woggy has to be one of the greatest characters in comics. He's simultaneously the big, epic battering ram style hero when he's called on to fight for the green light of WILLPOWER and the occasional comic relief when you get to watch him run boot-camp style training sessions for the newly inducted Lanterns. And did I mention he's friggin BIG?

So it's no secret I LOVE me some big mean over the top powerful heroes, and Kilowog exemplifies that in every way. Look for him in Green Lantern Corps mostly, though he makes an appearance in the other GL titles as well.

Another quicky done in Manga Studio using my Wacom Cintiq 12wx. Love me some fresh hot splatters lol, I need to start limiting the usage hahahah.

Ciao!

Sup bud. EX 4.0 at the moment. It's pretty fun, like I said the pencil and pen tools are really unmatched in my opinion.

hahah, yeah Wog is the shit. He definitely deserves a spotlight to bring him up to b league character status. Of course, he's all A league in my book =)

He's one of my favorite Lanterns actually, definitely A league for me. Did you see GL First Flight? He was awesome in that.

Yeah, he was one of the few badass elements in that movie. Over all I give the movie a B. But Kilowog was really cool in it. I'd literally sacrifice my first born child to see an animated Green Lantern Corps TV series. Do it just like the GLC book, rarely have Hal drop by, focus mainly on the rest of the 7000 odd Lanterns throughout the universe. *sigh*

He's already very smart. Remember, back in the day, he was the tech guy for the Justice League when they were International? He's a a renaissance man. :)

hahahah, I hear ya. Yeah he's a Bolovaxian of many talents =)

It would probably never work, and they'd never do it, but I'd read (or draw, heh he he) a Kilowog mini series, ahhhhhh. I can dream =)

Nah, probably not. But he gets a lot of exposure in "GLC". So at least we get something. :)

So, when do you get to draw "Green Lantern"? :D

well, there no official plan as of yet. The short I did in the Justice League 80 page giant was for the editors who also handle GL books though, so I'll be crossing my fingers.

Also, there may or may not be a pitch in the works with a buddy of mine that may or may not involve the Corps....

I gotta agree that this is one of the coolest portraits in the world, I have been on a GL kick since Rebirth (since DC decided to take GL seriously with writers AND artists) and I think the last part with Kilowog in GL Corps yelling at the dead rookies was great!

Your great description just helped me with an idea I've been wanting to do for a series of drawings..... It may be done by summertime, and if/when it is, I'll let ya know=]

Yeah, a friend of mine a while back was like, "WTF? You're not reading GL???"

So he prmptly got me started with Rebirth. After that, it was full throttle man0crushing all over Hal Jordan hahahah. I just loved the books. So in the process, I read of another Lantern of note...

MUTHAFRAGGIN' SODAM YAT!

My life changed. Human emotions became obsolete. I knew from that day on, I had to train my mind, my body and my very sould to one day become a beacon of the Emerald Light myself. One day I will take up the mantle of Green Lantern and wear the security of our sector on the ring finger of my right hand!!!

Or, you know, just like, draw the book someday... here's to hoping!

BEASTOOOOOOOOOOOON

Dude, thanks man. I've actually refined it quite a bit from when I started. The stuff I was doing prior in MS was all a bit globby and messy. Buuuuut, I'm a Paul Pope fan, so I'd like to do a few things in his style as well. And you know, I AM a Beaston fan too, so I might rip off your style for a piece or two LOL. Great looking work by the way, good to see you're still kicking loads of ass!

Thanks bud. He's a tough one to crack, having like THE weirdest facial structure ever lol. But I just equate his appearance to a mix between a pit bull and a pig. So I naturally looked at my dog (Bruce Wayne is his name. Yes, I'm THAT hardcore hahah) for reference.
